Enabling and Disabling Timelapse Recording:

First things first, let's make sure timelapse recording is enabled. By default, it's usually on, but it's always good to double-check.

  • To enable (or disable) timelapse: Open Procreate, go to "Actions" (the wrench icon), then "Video," and toggle "Timelapse Recording" on or off. It’s that simple!

Creating Your Timelapse:

Now, simply start drawing! Procreate will automatically record every stroke you make. It's important to note that the timelapse captures everything you do on the canvas, so be mindful of any accidental scribbles or unwanted actions.

Saving and Exporting Your Timelapse:

Once you're finished with your artwork, it's time to save your timelapse.

  • To export your timelapse: Go to "Actions" > "Video" > "Export Timelapse Video."
  • You'll have a few export options, including different resolutions and video lengths. Choose the settings that best suit your needs.

The Secret Tip: Hiding Private Images from Your Timelapse:

Sometimes, you might need to reference a private image or document while you're working, but you don't want it to appear in your timelapse. Here's a clever workaround:

  1. Import Your Private Image: Import your image by selecting private image.
  2. Create a New Layer: Add a new layer for your timelapse art. Do not draw on the imported image.
  3. Export Your Timelapse: The private image will not be recorded in the timelapse.

This trick allows you to keep your reference material handy without revealing it in your final video.

Optimizing Your Timelapse:

  • Smooth Strokes: Try to use smooth, deliberate strokes for a more visually appealing timelapse.
  • Layer Management: Good layer organization can make your timelapse easier to follow.
